Your basket is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name “fo-basket-v1”, so it is still there when you come back. It never leaves your device. You can clear it by emptying your basket or clearing your browser’s site data.
If you pick a language with the EN / FR switch, we remember it in a cookie named “fo_lang” (value “en” or “fr”, kept for one year), so you are not sent back to the other language. It is strictly necessary to show the language you asked for, holds nothing else and is never used for tracking. Without it, visitors in France see the French site and everyone else the English site.
Measuring how the shop is used (our own tool)
We measure how our website is used with our own tool, on our own server (first-party measurement). For now it runs without a cookie banner. A cookie banner will be added soon, and this page will be updated.
What we measure
- Visits and the pages seen, where visitors come from (for example a search engine or one of our ads), the type of device and an approximate location (country and region).
- Clicks and how far pages are scrolled, to draw heatmaps of each page.
- Page speed and technical errors, so we can fix problems.
- Products viewed, searches, and products added to or removed from the basket.
- Your journey across visits and its link to an order you place, so we know which visits and ads lead to orders (attribution).
Session recording
We may switch on session recording for some visits: a replay of how the pages were used (scrolling, clicks, mouse movements), to find what is hard to use. Everything typed into forms and any personal details are masked before anything is sent, and the checkout return page, order tracking and the returns pages (with the withdrawal form) are never recorded. Recordings are kept 30 days.

What we keep, and for how long
Your IP address is never stored: it is only used at the time of the visit to work out the country and region, then dropped. Measurement data is kept 25 months (individual events 13 months, after that only as totals). It stays on our own server: it is not shared, not sold and not used for advertising.
Opting out
You can opt out at any time with the button below. It stores a cookie named “_hx” in this browser (kept 13 months), and from then on nothing is measured or recorded in this browser. Clearing your cookies also clears this choice.
